a friend told me that fans must be careful, around the presquile area the french boys are going to target 3 bars. King arthur, thewallace, and the welsh. be alert, all bars are in narrow streets. good luck boys and girls, thanks paul for the info.

Just got this from a reliable mate who is already there
Paul I am in Lyon now, owner of an Irish bar told us that the Lyon hardcore fans are looking to pick off west ham fans at the three bars next to each other in Presquile tomorrow night. The bars are, King Arthur, the Wallace and the Welsh. They are narrow streets and targeted as considered easy pickings. He said around 150 Lyon fans are expected. Just a heads up.
In other words, you read it on here, Bill.

Yeah, a good mate of mine has been out there with his wife since Monday, he has just said this in response to a question as to whether he's found any decent pubs:
"There's a few in the old town but a lot of them ain't opening today and tomorrow, including our favourite the James Joyce. The Wallace and the Smoking Dog should be open though. Locals are expecting trouble from their so called Ultra's who tend to steam in mob handed and then run away! Watch out for blades."

The Smoking Dog is where the Yids got ambushed. The square to gather is Place de Terreaux in Presqu'ile. This is between the rivers. Be careful as I had a few run ins with the local Arabs in this square when I worked there.
The old town is across the Soane river from Presqu'ile. All the best pubs/bars are in this area and I doubt you'll avoid the ultras or the arabs so bring it on.
One last warning the Old Bill there are absolute bottle jobs. Trust me they won't get involved unless they are in big numbers and probably too late to help you. They will stand and watch

Block 426 next to the away fans in Lyon was sold out. They have now cancelled and refunded everyone who paid with an English debit card , being the blue seats now available again
Plus block 427 as well.

The police closed the main Wallace pub tonight (the Wallace referred to in the OP is the smaller Wallace snug) while it was full of fans watching the champions league games . I heard there was no trouble but shut as a precaution. Saw some video earlier , looked good atmosphere, we were in good voice. Good chance some of these bars like the smoking dog , Wallace might be closed tomorrow night once the game is done .

Got here yesterday afternoon, out and about last night and all quiet, plenty of West Ham about in pockets of fives and sixes.
Massive place Lyon as the stadium is miles out of town and a three hour walk, looks like public transport there and back which should be fun

The leader of the Ultras was in the Old Town last night and was persuaded not to attack any bars by a bar owner that he has respect for.
We were sitting with the bar owner outside a bar (not his own) and saw the conversation. Just as well really as there were only about ten of us in total.
